Santa Cruz Design+Innovation Center

The mission of the Santa Cruz Design + Innovation Center is to promote Santa Cruz as a globally-recognized design destination. Why Santa Cruz? Because we have a unique collective vision of design, inspired by the beauty of our beaches and mountains, Inspired by our youthful iconoclastic culture, and inspired by our commitment to innovation and sustainability.

It all comes together in Santa Cruz.

Architecture Salon

The Architecture Salon at NextSpace on Thursday 4th of December was a huge success, with over 90 people attending. Martha Matson, Mark Primack, and Matthew Thompson discussed the state of architecture, particularly in reference to Santa Cruz, with each other and the audience. In addition, San Francisco documentary makers Leslie Streit and Robin McCain showed a preliminary edit of their documentary on the Henry P. Glass House. This movie is a portrait of a couple who were years ahead of their time, since Elly and Henry Glass were living "green" long before the phrase had been coined. To find out more about Elly and Henry, visit www.ellyglass.com.
