SCD+IC Launch Party @ Plantronics

The launch party at Plantronics kicked off the opening of the SCD+IC in a big way. Over 400 attendees packed the spacious venue, and dozens more had to be turned away. The unanticipated popularity was a good thing for the message.

The launch of the SCD+IC symbolizes a united effort on the part of local designers, freelancers, inventors, and creators to keep talent in Santa Cruz. Instead of having to showcase their work in Los Angeles or San Francisco, an increasing number of innovators are advocating to keep it at home instead of shipping talent elsewhere.

Thanks to everyone for making the event at Johnson Art Studio so memorable. Fifty places were available, fifty-three were sold on line, and fifty-seven people turned up. Yes it was a great beginning . I was a part of it, I am sure it will grow a lot based on the response it got from the different people.
