Bret is a native of Santa Barbara, CA where he currently resides. He attended UC Santa Cruz from 1997 to 2001 and earned his bachelor degree in Environmental Studies. While at UC Santa Cruz, he worked in the campus machine shop one summer and gained in interest in building and making things out of metal. He is now a prototype machinist at Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network, Inc., a non-profit scientific organization that is currently building a global robotic telescope network that will be available to the scientific community as well as all levels of educational institutions. He has an interest in industrial design and is looking to know more about the field. As a UCSC grad and former Santa Cruz resident, he see SCD+IC as a great resource to get connected to the ID community.
