California designer John Schlesinger started his influence in Surfing, Skating, BMX and Punk music at the age of 9 in 1984. Down on the Pacific Beach boardwalk he bought his first surfboard from surf legend Skip Frye at his Felspar St. shaping shack, a 6"6' full pinstripe carbon-fibered fun board. Growing up in an artist household and being absorbed in the golden age of action sports he learned progressive style on a board, and on a canvas.
In 1998, John ventured to San Francisco to complete his education at the Academy of Art and to start a career in graphic design. While residing in the beautiful city of SF/CA for 10 years he designed fulltime for elite clients in action sports, street wear and entertainment industries. A decade later, with a passion for strong design campaigns and experience in many mediums, John is actively designing for multiple clients from his home studio in the surf-city of Santa Cruz, CA.
