Loren Stirling studied at the Art Center College of Design. He has worked in various design capacities at Sundberg-Ferar, Zierhut/Vedder/Shimano, Singer Business Machines and Xerox before establishing Stirling Design.
He is a life member of the Industrial Designer's Society of America (IDSA) and has served as Chairman of the San Francisco chapter. Currently he is on the board of directors of Santa Cruz Design+Innovation Center (SCD+IC). He enjoys mentor work with ID students and has been an invited speaker at various design schools. His work has been widely published in ID magazine, Innovation, Business Week, Business 2.0 and others. His current focus is on biomedical, alternative energy and sustainable architecture products.
